Four Attachments You Need to Plow Through Winter

Winter is here and in the northeast, it can bring plenty of days of fresh blankets of snow. If you are looking to put your UTV, skid steer, wheel loader, or mini track loader to work this winter, here are the attachments you should be using. In the video below, one of our Bobcat salesman gives you his four picks for the best winter attachments to have on your machine this winter.

1. V-blade

The V-blade will plow you through the deepest drifts and push snow into large piles. The V-blade is the attachment you are looking for clearing deep snow from parking lots, driveways, and roadways. The attachment features five blade configurations and can be positioned in multiple ways for maximum versatility. One movement feature includes blades moving left and right to quickly and easily move snow in either direction. The V-blade itself cuts an initial pathway fast through deep, heavy or hard packed snow giving you options for whatever mother nature throws your way.

2. Angle Broom

The angle broom is the attachment you are looking for.  The angle broom does just as you would imagine it would do by sweeping the light snowfall off the surface.  If it is less than 6 inches of snowfall the broom is the choice for you.  This is a widely used attachment on larger sidewalks (i.e. college campuses, parks, school grounds, etc.) because of its ability to move the snow very efficiently and brushing it aside off the walkway or path.  There is a wide range of width sizes you can choose from.

3. Snow blower

Snow blowers are made to move little to mass amounts of snow out of the way.  It will not move it to just one location however, it will blow it a distance away.  So if you need to remove snow off a path or driveway and onto a yard, this is a good option.  You will use the auger to direct the snow where you want it to land.  By blowing the snow, you are able to spread the snow around, so mounds of snow are not created. Also, blowers do a wonderful job throwing the piles further from the edge of where it was before.  The blower is the best way to move snow away from edges of a surface.

4. Snow Bucket

When the snow gets heavy and tough, a snow bucket is a good option.  A snow bucket is your heavy duty answer to push, pull and dump high volumes of snow. With straight sides you can cut through tough piles of snow creating a clean line.  Unlike the blower, you decide where the snow get put.
